| This is Mariusz Pudzianowski, he's (I think) a five time World Strongest Man, he's a strongman competition competitor and MMA fighter. He's 6'1, and hovers between 260-310 pounds, as you see, he's pretty ripped, looks to be pretty low bodyfat. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Mariusz_Pudzianowski There's the wikipedia page about him, what struck me the most was, his diet.
On one of the World Stongman events shown on TV, as well as in an interview for MTV, Mariusz when asked about diet said: "I eat everything. I do not follow any particular diet. I eat anything I want, anytime I want".[28]

My energy comes from my diet. Breakfast is 10 eggs and two to three pounds of bacon. Between meals, I eat lots of candy. In the morning, it will be several 3 Musketeers and/or Snickers bars; I need them for energy. Lunch, at 1 or 2 PM, is a double meal of a Polish pork chop, sauerkraut and potatoes. An hour later, I work out, then take lots of supplements: magnesium, creatine, amino acids, all that stuff, and more chocolate. Dinner is whatever meat I can grab?steaks, pork chops, bacon?plus more sauerkraut and potatoes. At 9 or 10 PM, I work out again. Afterward, I have a protein shake and more chocolate. At 3 or 4 AM, I wake up and have more chocolate, then go back to sleep until morning.[29] |
Quite shocking, no? He seemingly breaks all the rules, and is, well, the world's strongest man, and he's got a fairly low bodyfat percentage, definitely lower than someone like Hossein Rezazadeh, the super heavyweight Olympic weightlifting record holder. Anyway, yeah, regarding the diet, though, breaks all the rules, and, well.... look at the results. One thing I thought of in regard to this was the Lewis Black routine, the one about the guy who lived to be 115 eating bread fried in fatback and Thunderbird wine (which is an exaggerated story.) Here's the skit I'm talking about, btw...
Anyone else have any thoughts about his diet? Nuts? Awesome? _________________ 'A time is coming when men will go mad, and when they see someone who is not mad, they will attack him, saying, 'You are mad; you are not like us.' Saying 25, Sayings of the Desert Fathers. Abba Anthony. |

| This is quite an old article. I remember seeing it a few years ago on a bodybuilding site. I doubt that was his real diet, although from watching his MMA fights, he gasses out very easily so who knows.
I also think he was doing steroids back when he was competing in TWSM. They don't test for performance enhancing drugs, only recreational from what I have read. Normally, it is advised to eat an incredibly healthy diet when consuming steroids, to get the best out of them, and to stay away from any possible negative side effects. I could see him saying "Oh yea, I just eat whatever" when the reality is his diet could be so complex that he doesn't even want to talk about it honestly. On the other hand if what he said is true he sure consumes a lot of sugars and massive amounts of fat and protein. Steroid users often eat more than normal, because they are working out so often and burning calories so fast.
He has leaned down quite a bit since the TWSM days, in order to improve his endurance for MMA, so maybe he is eating better now and on less or no steroids. Aside from the fact that he looks good aesthetically, and he can lift a lot, he doesn't look that healthy for an athlete, especially when I watch him fight. Still, to this day the guy gasses out so quick with those big muscles, so whatever he's doing it can't be good for the heart at all.
You can get big and strong if you eat and lift for mass, which is no secret. Many bodybuilders who are pretty big eat terrible diets, and as a result they are unhealthy in the long run. It's hard for me to respect guys like that, but in Marius's case terrible diet and steroids or not, I do respect how he has pushed the limits of a human body like he has... But I don't think it's that healthy whatever he is doing.
Herschel Walker says he only eats one meal a day and look at that guy. Herschel Walker also has multiple personalities though. _________________ "You know, the blues ain't nothing but a worried ole heart disease"-Son House |
